This episode came from Worcestershire where Matt was at Pershore Lock on the River Avon. He was helping the local community perform repairs to the island which had been damaged by landslips and was in danger of erosion. He also got to mess about in boats (a double canoe)
Matt was taking a break from The One Show so it was straight on to another Countryfile and it was Ramble time. This time Matt was up on Skye with Josh who has Niemann-Pick disease. It was a bit different to other rambles as the public weren’t invited on to this one, I think distance and the effort needed to support Josh would have made it tricky so instead the focus was on the story and Josh’s family.
For this special Matt was up on the Isle of Skye looking for otters. He didn’t manage to find any whilst kayaking around but did have a lovely tranquil trip. Instead he found his otters on land with a family who rescue injured otters and make them fit for release to the wild. He helped them release their 207th otter to sea.
The guest was musical legend Roger Daltrey of The Who promoting his new autobiography.

To celebrate the 60th birthday of Blue Peter we had five presenters on the sofa – Mark Curry, Sarah Greene, Konnie Huq, Simon Thomas, and of course, Matt himself. It was great fun broken up by very few VTs as they reminisced about the show and showed some old clips (Matt and Simon in lederhosen…)
Matt was wearing a burgundy jumper and jeans – and most importantly, his gold Blue Peter badge.
The guests on this show were actors Adrian Lester and Lara Pulver who were appearing in a new stage version of Guys and Dolls.

This was a bumper show – back to an hour – for the launch of The Rickshaw Challenge 2018. We had 3 guests as well in actor/comedian Ruth Jones, vet Noel Fitzpatrick, and all-round action person Ben Fogle.
Matt was mostly wearing a red jumper and jeans. We did also have him host the VT of the new rickshaw build at McLaren where he was wearing his red bike t-shirt (and standing next to Ayrton Senna’s McLaren which is a win in my book!)
The guest was comedian Al Murray promoting a new travel documentary he was doing. I love how when he is being himself it’s clear how different he is politically from the pub landlord character – and I think that comes as a shock to some people out there.
