It was the first full day for Team Rickshaw as they headed from Pinner to Banbury – a fairly long run but flatter than most days would be on the journey.
It was the start of the Rickshaw Challenge for 2017 as the team headed out from the studio on their Ride to the Clyde. Matt presented the show wearing his cycling gear. The guest for this episode was Stephen Fry discussing his book on Ancient Greek mythology.
The initial guests on this show were actors Lee Ingelby and Shane Richie. Later on they were joined by astronaut Tim Peake and space scientist (and winner of the BBC astronaut training show) Dr Suzie Imber. That bit of the show was much more interesting than the acting with some good Q&A on space research and the future – I am biased though as Suzie is local to me and I have a couple of friends with similar backgrounds to hers…
Matt was wearing a blue jumper, check shirt, and grey tweed trousers
The guest on the show was Anna Maxwell-Martin talking about her new comedy series. We also had Mollie & AJ pop in from Strictly as it was the week of the controversial Aston exit…
Matt was wearing a grey checked shirt and beige chinos
Matt returned to the sofa after half term with the guest being Paul O’Grady. As usual he was a great guest talking about the countryside, animals in general, and dogs in particular.
Matt was wearing a terracotta coloured shirt and jeans
For this episode Matt’s focus was on woodlands. He was exploring woodland with a group of schoolchildren who were finding out how to build shelters and identify species. He then talked about the new Woodland Charter and had fun wood carving.
This was the ramble for Children in Need. Matt was on Dartmoor with the remarkable Georgia. Given that 7 years ago she was left blind, mute, and unable to walk it was remarkable that she completed the walk – and to then abseil off a bridge as well!
